Adobe PDF creation cannot continue because Acrobat is not activated

I've upgraded to Acrobat 8 Professional and am running Vista Ultimate Edition (RTM build 6000). I found this BUG; if you attempt to print to Adobe PDF from a web page you get the above error message. This hasn't happened from any of my applications yet. This error does not occur with Acrobat 8 Pro installed under Win xp Pro and final release of IE7.

Tom, have you found a reasonable way to contact Adobe support to report this. I've found their site to not be user friendly and down right difficult to report issues. This forum seems to be the only quick way to exchange and discuss problems. Maybe Adobe is watching.

Well, I think I've found a temporary solution to this although it seems to negate the security features that they've employed in Vista. In any case instead of opening IE just by double-clicking the icon, if you right-click the IE icon and choose Run as Administrator, then when you try to print a page using the Adobe PDF driver, it will print correctly.

If you just run IE normally it will generate the activation error.

Issue: When printing from Internet Explorer 7 to to the Adobe PDF printer in Protected mode, an error message "Adobe PDF creation cannot continue because Acrobat is not activated." appears and a PDF file is not created.

Solution: Disable Protected Mode in Internet Explorer 7. Quit all IE7 windows and try again.

When you go to put IE with disabling protected mode, you get message that you are putting your computer at risks. Is this risk elevation worth it? Exactly what is the new risk threat (I have firewall on and antivirus). Is their a fix adobe could do with Acrobat 8 so you dont have to have this risk?
